This Colonial Cottages at Singara Estate dates back to the 1800s and is amidst an evergreen tea plantation. It provides guests with a picturesque view and serene surroundings that are enhanced by the pleasant weather.
The mansion is unique in the sense that it is a tea-themed homestay. The mansion facility has six rooms with modern amenities that do not diminish the feel of the colonial era and the period furnishings. The rooms have fascinating names that they share with well-known tea varieties such as Green, Jasmine, Lemon, Golden Tips, Silver Tips, and Chamomile. There is also a comfortable seating area provided in each room. Further, there is a common plantation lounge from where the guests can enjoy Coonoor’s beauty comprising of curvy mountains, sprawling tea estates, and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
For a great dining experience, Colonial Cottages at Singara Estate has its own restaurant Earl Grey. While the breakfast is complimentary, a la carte luncheon and dinner will leave your taste buds wanting for more. The menu at the restaurant is a mix of Indian and international cuisines. Also, the specialty of the menu is that every item on it is tea-flavored.
Nestled in the hill station of Coonoor, Colonial Cottages at Singara Estate is about an hour’s drive from Ooty. Coonoor is famous for its rich nature and is a hiker’s and trekker’s dream come true. Lofty mountains, lush green tea gardens, and dense forests are just perfect for all adventure lovers. Mornings and evenings here can simply be spent admiring the untouched nature, sipping hot and tasty tea. - Extra person (12 years and above) – Rs. 575 (CP) per night.

Things to do
If relaxation is your primary aim, you can choose to play board games or lounge around with a book for company. If you are lucky enough, you might even sight an Indian gaur wandering by. You can also go for a walk in the tea garden accompanied by a guide.
There are a number of tourist attractions in and around Coonoor. One can choose to ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway or visit nearby places such as Lamb’s Rock and Dolphin’s Nose Viewpoint. Ooty too is an hour’s drive away from Coonoor.

Further, Mysore and Bangalore are around 242 km (approx. 6 hrs) and 320 km (7 hrs 15 mins) away from Coonoor, respectively.
On the Ooty - Metttupalayam route, take the road on the left at Coonoor bus stand that goes towards Bedford, CMS. On this road, you will pass by upper Coonoor police station. After reaching Singara road, the Estate Cottages is just a kilometer away.
