This Classic Homestay at Pozuthana is surrounded by spectacular vistas of mountains, valleys, and tea estates spread across 150 acres. The trekking trails and pristine air of the countryside are apt for relaxation and adventure alike. The sparkly waters of the narrow streams within the boundaries of the Homestay rejuvenate and recharge one’s soul and body alike. The surrounding misty hills and dense vegetation treat your eyes to boundless captivating views.
This Classic Homestay at Pozuthana splendidly combines great hospitality with the ambiance of living in a typical joint family of Kerala. The immaculately kept rooms here are on par with top notch resorts. The exterior architecture reflects the traditional Kerala style of construction. There are four rooms and all accommodations are set in a duplex layout. The peace and tranquillity at the ground level, close to the coffee and spice garden will purify your mind. The elevated views from the upper levels lend an extravagant treat to your eyes and ears with the splendid beauty of the Western Ghats.
The rooms are tastefully done up with traditional Kerala furnishings and elegant upholstery. Every corner of the Homestay resonates the feel of a home away from home. To ensure that guests can completely cut themselves off from the outside world and surrender wholly to nature’s splendors, this Homestay refrains from providing electronic devices like TVs, radios, air conditioners, and telephones. Things to do
A walk through the heart of the coffee plantations, paddy fields, betel nut trees, and spice gardens is a perfect start for an active morning. The sunrise in these settings will transport you to inexplicable enchantment. Bird watchers can feast at the sight of innumerable birds smearing the morning sky with various hues.
Set out on a forest hike crossing mountain streams. The swimming holes along this trail are difficult to pass by without being tempted to take a dip. The natural pool at the end of the stream is a favorite spot for travelers for a refreshing dip.
River rafting along the Kabini river is an enthralling experience. All rides are assisted by guides following every safety norm. So, all one needs to do is sit back and feel the adrenaline rush as you row, swim or wade in the Kabini.
Venture out for mountain biking or cycling through picturesque coffee estates, tea plantations, spice gardens, and paddy fields or get a bit more rugged and rough it out on tougher trails.
The Homestay also arranges a trip to other popular spots of Wayanad. A few of the attractions are the serene Banasurasagar Dam and catchment, the centuries-old historical Edakkal Caves, Karappuzha, the uninhabited Kuruva Island, the high point at Lakkidi, and safari through Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary. Tours to tribal villages can also be arranged on request.

From Calicut, take NH 766 through Thamarasseri. You will cross towns like Adivaram and Pookkote before reaching Vythiri. At the Pozhuthana junction in Vythiri, take a left turn. Travel about 6 km on this road to reach this classic Homestay

Situated in the midst of a lush tea and coffee estate at Pozhuthana, around 5.5 km away from Vythiri on the Calicut highway and 8 km away from Kalpetta, this Homestay has spacious and clean rooms with quaint balconies that afford great views of the verdant landscape.
Only vegetarian food is served here, cooked by the hostess herself. All meals feature traditional and authentic Kerala cuisine and are extremely delicious. What is unmatched is the hospitality and personal attention of the warm hosts at this quaint Homestay.
You can go on a trek through the estate which your hosts will be happy to arrange if required. For the adventurous types, Zipline, bamboo rafting, and other activities can be arranged at an extra cost.
