General
Colorful prayer flags and the hospitality at the Heritage Villa Near Leh breathe life into the barren moonscape of Ladakh.
All it takes is one visit to fall in love with Ladakh. While its landscape is mostly barren and resembles that of the moon, it’s this supernatural appeal that attracts many a soul to this land. In Ladakh, you will find beauty in nothingness and come back home with a soul full of memories and experiences. People from far and wide, from all around the globe, dream of visiting this enchanted Himalayan landscape at least once in their lifetime. A striking contrast to the barren colorless land is the azure sky and fluttering prayer flags, a common sight you will see when you are in the region. The picture-like view of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas constantly reminds one how minuscule we are compared to them. Amid the jagged peaks and arid mountains is Leh, bustling with life and activity. And just a little away from the hustle and bustle of the town is your peaceful holiday abode at the Heritage Villa Near Leh.
The Heritage Villa Near Leh blends regal charm with simple comforts, to say the least. Located in an orchard with apricot, willow, and walnut trees near the Stok Palace, the heritage villas appear to be a natural extension of the royal home. The heritage villa is open all year round, which makes it the perfect holiday home whether you want to enjoy the apricot blossoms in the summers, the autumn colors before the winters step in or the snow-covered paradise that the region becomes in the winter months. The villas are a recent addition to the palace grounds and are built using traditional materials. The muted luxury gives the interiors of the villas an elegant charm. The primary materials used in the interiors are wood and mud without any industrial finish. Rice paper is used to diffuse and soften the lighting in the rooms. The heritage villa has a garden that’s not manicured on purpose to match the untouched beauty of the region. The heritage villa serves its guests delicious dishes from the traditional Ladakhi cuisine along with a wide choice of other Indian and Tibetan cuisine.
Accommodation at the Heritage Villa Near Leh is built around the theme of exclusivity, which is why there are only three cottages offering complete privacy to the discerning traveler. Each villa has two bedrooms, a living area, attached bathroom and a full-fledged kitchenette. There is ample natural lighting in all the rooms. Every room is individually heated and insulated with natural materials. All the villas look out to the garden and offer breathtaking views of the surroundings. Wanted a home away from home?
